13 ‘Sters Make CCL All-Star Team

Player batting

Once again the ‘Sters have the largest number of players on the 2014 All-Star team. 13 ‘Sters will be playing in the 2014 All-Star game on Wednesday, July 16th at the MLB Academy in Compton. The game will be broadcast live on Fox Sports West.

The Foresters 13 players all come with an array of talents. From strikeouts to doubles, to homeruns and stolen bases, the 13 ‘Sters are sure to make a splash at the All-Star game.

Just a few of the ‘Sters who headline the 2014 All-Star team include Granger Studdard (Texas State) who is tied for first place in the CCL with four home runs. Fellow All-Stars Jaylin Davis and Dillon Dobson (Appalachian State) each have three home runs in the CCL, tying them for second place. Davis leads the ‘Sters with five home runs on the season.  Andrew Lantrip (University of Houston) leads the CCL in wins with four and Jon Woodcock (Virginia Tech) another All-Star is close behind with three. Jon Duplantier’s (Rice) 46 strikeouts lead the team and he boosts a 1.50 era in 30 innings of pitching. His era and strikeouts put Duplantier as one of the top pitchers in the CCL.

Colt Atwood (Sam Houston State), Bret Boswell (University of Texas), AJ Kennedy (Cal State Fullerton), Jeremy Montalbano (University of Texas), Sam Odom (Sam Houston State), Jake Vickerson (Mississippi State), and Matt Withrow (Texas Tech) round out the ‘Sters who were selected to the 2014 rosters. Whether it is fielding or batting, each of these guys will bring an excellent skill set to the All-Star game.
