Foresters Fireworks Fizzle, Oaks Win 6-0

Fireworks, baseball gloves, hot dog

The Conejo Oaks spoiled the Foresters Fourth of July celebrations with first-inning fireworks and lights-out pitching. A run-scoring double and a two-run homer off Foresters starter Connor Mayes proved to be more than enough, as Conejo pitchers combined on a four-hit shutout (including two by Tyler Adkison) and Santa Barbara lost, 6-0. Conejo starter Jacob Patterson allowed only two hits while striking out three, followed by three relievers who allowed only one Foresters runner to reach third in the final four innings. The Oaks’ defense also turned three double plays, blunting potential Foresters rallies.
