Former Foresters pitcher Dylan Axelrod was called back up by the Chicago White Sox to bolster their rotation. Meanwhile, in San Francisco, when third baseman Pablo Sandoval went down, the Giants called up Conor Gillaspie to hold down third base. Axelrod also pitched at Santa Barbara City College and UC Irvine, while Gillaspie is a former first-round pick out of Wichita State. Best of luck to these former Sters, who join a half-dozen others playing out their Major League dreams, including James Shields, ace of the Tampa Bay Rays’ staff.
