The players have enjoyed their last Santa Barbara barbecue (thanks to George Begg and his crew), waved goodbye to Pershing Park, and now the ’Ster bus is rolling eastward, heading to Wichita, Kansas, for the 84th NBC World Series. This will be the Foresters 26th trip, the most in a row by any team in the tournament’s storied past. They have captured six national championships, tied for the most ever. One more (this year?) and they’ll own a record seven.
