Foresters Can’t Catch Catch

Players in huddle

The SoCal Catch scored in each of the first six innings and the Foresters bats did not have the answer, as Santa Barbara fell to its second straight CCL defeat, 7-1 in La Mirada. Foresters starter Matt Hartman gave up four earned runs in his four innings of work, though he did strike out five. In his ’Sters debut, Reagan Todd didn’t fare much better, allowing three more runs. The Foresters got all their offense in the fourth, when back-to-back doubles by Bret Boswell and Trevor Abrams turned into a run. Andrew Garretson had two of the Foresters’ six hits.

BOX SCORE

The Foresters stay on the road for a pair of games at the Conejo Oaks. Saturday’s radio broadcast of the game on AM 1290 starts at 5 pm, while Sunday’s first pitch is 1 pm. Santa Barbara’s regular home season starts on Tuesday, June 14 at UCSB with a contest against the Ventura Halos.
