Manager and Executive Director
America’s most successful summer-ball coach, and a Santa Barbara-area baseball legend, returns for his 27th season at the helm of the Foresters. Bill’s Foresters have finished in the top four nationally every year since 2003 except once, an unmatched record of success among summer-ball teams. He led them to NBC World Series National Championships in 2006, 2008, 2011, 2012, 2014, 2016, 2018, 2020 and 2021—the most titles in NBC World Series History. And there’s more: Bill has . . :

• Won 11 CCL manager of the year awards

Bill directs the work of the Foresters off the field as well, whether that means raising funds, supporting Hugs for Cubs, leading board meetings, or meeting with the media, sponsors, and community leaders. Away from his busy Foresters life, Bill runs a commercial real estate business and is a scout for the New York Yankees, helping other young ballplayers realize their diamond dreams. Bill was honored for his work with young people by being named an Olympic torchbearer in 2000 and was named a “Local Hero” by the Santa Barbara Independent in 2003. In 2009, he was given the prestigious Sparky Anderson Award by the Association of Professional Ballplayers for his ongoing contributions to baseball player development. He is on the board of the Santa Barbara Athletic Round Table and was elected to its Hall of Fame in 2011. He also was instrumental in arranging the Foresters’ two trips to Cuba to play top teams on that island.
Associate Head Coach
Welcome back to Foresters veteran Steve Schuck. In 2019, Steve took over the reins as head baseball coach at Santa Barbara High School after many years of previous coaching work in Arizona. He led them to a Channel League title in his first season! Steve has spent summers coaching in the Arizona Collegiate Wood Bat League. In 2013, his Monsoon club won the league championship. Steve also spent three seasons coaching in the Los Angeles Angels Pro Scout Program.
Brian begins his fourth season with the Foresters, coaching catchers and acting as third-base coach. He has a long career coaching high school, college, and professional baseball, and is currently the assistant to Steve Schuck at Santa Barbara High School. He is also a middle-school PE teacher.
Joey returns for his fourth summer with the Foresters, but he’s very familiar with local ballfields. For the past three years, he has been an assistant coach for the excellent Santa Barbara High team, working under Foresters associate head coach Steve Schuck.
Longtime Foresters fans might remember Jon from his 1993 stint on the team—before the Bill Pintard era, he said to note! Jon brings more than 29 years of experience in college coaching in his return to the ’Sters, including time at Northwestern, Baylor, Pepperdine, Loyola Marymount, and San Jose State. He played ball at Long Beach State and in the NY Yankees organization.
