Foresters Pitchers Star in MLB
Friday the 13th was a lucky night for a quartet of Foresters pitchers. In what we think might be a first, three Foresters pitchers earned victories in the Majors, while one of those wins was saved by yet another ’Ster.
A.J. Griffin earned his first career victory with six solid innings against the Twins. All-Star Ryan Cook came on to earn his ninth save for an All-Foresters affair.
Meanwhile, Chad Qualls came on in relief to earn the win for the Yankees, who came back to beat the Angels. It was his first win as a Yankee since the former Phillies and D-Backs reliever joined the Bombers.
In Kansas City, the White Sox and Royals needed 14 innings to come up with a winner and it turned out to be Dylan Axelrod, who pitched two scoreless innings in relief.
Add in a short relief appearance by Dana Eveland for Baltimore and you’ve got a very busy night for Foresters pitcher in the bigs.
