Our Hall of Fame Dinner will be held Sunday, February 2nd at 3pm. It will again be held at the Cabrillo Pavilion at 1118 E. Cabrillo Blvd. We welcome you to read about our Inductees and get your tickets below! Ster it Up!
It’s time to meet your new Santa Barbara Foresters Hall of Fame members! Make your plans now to join JOSH JUNG and LUKE RITTER (pictured above) as well as Foresters fans new and old at the Hall of Fame Banquet, Sunday February 2 at 3 pm at the Cabrillo Pavilion. This is not only a great way to look back at Foresters greats, but to get ready for Foresters 2025 and help the Hugs for Cubs at the same time. Tickets are available now on this page (see below).
At the dinner, the Foresters will induct Josh and Luke, two well-known and successful players. (Josh was actually going to be in the Class of 2024, but couldn’t make it, so we’re thrilled he’ll be in attendance for this year’s event.) Along with meeting Josh and Luke and others Foresters Hall of Fame members, attendees will enjoy great food and drink from our local sponsors and have a chance to bid on some outstanding sports memorabilia and sports tickets.
Josh Jung, 3B
This former Texas Tech star was the Foresters MVP in 2017, when he hit .368 and led the team with 31 RBI. Two years later, Josh was chosen eighth overall by the Rangers. He debuted in late 2022 and by the start of the ’23 season had grabbed the starting spot at the hot corner. He was a two-time AL Rookie of the Month, ending with 23 homers and 70 RBI on the season while earning a spot on the starting lineup for the AL All-Star Team. After the Rangers won the AL pennant, he hit .350 as the Rangers beat the Diamondbacks to win the franchise’s first World Series. Josh is the first Foresters player to earn a World Series ring.
Luke Ritter, IF
A two-year ’Ster, Wichita State’s Luke was Josh’s teammate in 2017 when he hit .353 and was second on the team with 21 RBI, while leading the squad with 15 RBI. Josh returned in 2018 to lead the team with 37 RBI. A season highlight was hitting for the cycle (believe at the time to be a Foresters first) with five hits and six RBI in an 18-7 win over the Riptide. A bigger highlight was helping Santa Barbara win the NBC World Series championship in Wichita. Luke was drafted by the New York Mets in 2019 and has steadily moved up, reaching AAA in 2024 with the Syracuse. Showing typical Foresters versatility, he played 1B, 2B, 3B, OF, and DH while also leading his club with 26 homers. Luke will debut in Mets big-league camp this spring!
“We’re thrilled to welcome Josh and Luke to a great group of players, coaches, and volunteers,” said Foresters manager Bill Pintard. “And we can’t wait to see everyone on February 2 to honor the players and to get psyched for the new season. ’Ster it up!”
