Jan 9: JUST ADDED: Come and listen to popular local classic-rock band OUT OF THE BLUE at the Foresters Hall of Fame evening!
The Foresters proudly announce the 2019 class of the Foresters Hall of Fame! Fans, family, friends, and Foresters are all welcome to join the induction ceremonies on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at the Santa Barbara Carriage Museum. Welcome to the Hall: Pat Burns, Aaron Gordnier, and Jeff McNeil! Order your tickets to this fun event below! The event starts at 5 pm and includes local food, wine, and beer.
Pat Burns was a Foresters coach for more than 14 seasons and a key part of the team’s first National Championships. He was also vital off the field as a general manager, helping set up many of the successful operations that the team still uses today. In 2010, Pat became the Commissioner of the California Collegiate League and he has led the CCL to new heights of national prominence, including spearheading the annual nationally-televised CCL All-Star Game. A longtime Santa Barbaran, Pat is a perennial part of the Foresters family.
Aaron Gordnier is a longtime member of the Foresters’ family. He was an key member of the team in 1996 and 1997, the first year the Foresters joined the elite ranks of the Top 10 at the NBC, and still maintains a spot on multiple Foresters all-time records lists. Aaron followed his college baseball career at Cal Berkeley, where he was the team captain, with several years playing in the minor leagues of the Indians and Dodgers organizations. After baseball, Aaron has pursued a career in technology sales and currently resides in San Clemente with his wife and two children. Aaron has continued his association with the Foresters as a regular donor and participant in Foresters events.
In 2019, Jeff McNeil joined the long parade of former Foresters who earned time in Major League Baseball. Jeff was part of the Foresters’ 2011 National Championship team. He thrilled his many fans in his native Santa Barbara and in Nipomo, where he was raised and played Little League, by earning a starting spot in the New York Mets’ infield in 2018. He hit .329 for the season and looks forward to cementing his everyday role in 2019. Jeff’s speed and hustle were a big part of the Foresters’ 2011 title, and he helped the Long Beach State Dirtbags until he was drafted by the Mets in 2013.
Tickets for the event, which is always a highlight of the Foresters’ offseason, will be $50 for adults, $15 for 6-13 and kids 6 and under free. The evening will include dinner, beer and wine, and a chance to meet and greet the new Hall of Famers, as well as meet former players, coaches, and other Hall members.
