The Goleta Valley Chamber of Commerce has announced that the Hugs for Cubs has been named the Small Nonprofit of the Year! Congrats to all the volunteers, and thanks to all the families it has been our honor and privilege to help!

“We are so proud of this award,” said executive director Bill Pintard, who started the Hugs for Cubs in 1995 with his son Eric, after Eric was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. In the years since, Hugs for Cubs has worked with local families and kids facing life-threatening illnesses to offer support, joy, fun, and the excitement of championship baseball. “The Foresters entire family holds the Hugs for Cubs near and dear to our hearts. It’s a vital part of our mission and the chance to bring smiles to kids facing a hard time and give love and support to families in this crisis is one we never pass up. Eric would be so proud of this. Thanks to the Goleta Valley Chamber of Commerce for honoring us with this great award. ‘Ster it up for the Hugs for Cubs!

The award will be presented to the Hugs for Cubs and the Foresters on November 20 at the Goleta’s Finest event on November 20 at the Bacara Resort. Click here if you’d like information on tickets for the event.
