Hugs for the Angels!

Thanks to Hugs for Cubs supporters and volunteers and the Los Angeles Angels, Hugs for Cubs kids and their families had an awesome time at an Angels game this week. A bus full of Foresters players and staff were joined by Hugs for Cubs families, including Lexi’s (that’s Lexi with Kyle Kubitza). The entire group was welcomed onto the field by the Angels before the game to meet players. One of the highlights was seeing former Forester Kyle Kubitza, recently called up as the Angels new third baseman. Kyle met the kids and posed for photos while remembering the times he had gone on Hugs trips during his summer in Santa Barbara. The group also met with Angels manager Mike Scioscia, a longtime supporter of the Hugs for Cubs. Mike, Kyle, and Angels PR director Tim Mead could not have been nicer, making sure that the kids and their families really had a special time. Though the Angels didn’t win the game over Arizona, it was a magical evening of memories. Thanks to the Angels, our Hugs volunteers, and to everyone who helped make this the first of many special events the Foresters plan this summer. See this link for more details.
