With a score of 4-2, the Foresters suffer their first home loss as a single home run from Nate Rombach and an RBI from Kevin Bazzell to bring Miguel Santos home was not enough against the SLO Blues. The night was filled with unfortunate mistakes and wild pitches, making it hard for the Foresters to put up runs.
In the top of the 3rd, the Blues got on the board first with an error from Tanner O’Tremba allowing Connor McGuire to get to first. The Blues capitalized on a wild pitch from Graham Osman, as McGuire jogged to second. An RBI from Darius Price had McGuire running home to make it 1-0.
The fourth saw similar mistakes as an error from Miguel Santos allowed a single and a dropped ball in the outfield from Josh Stinson put a man on second and third. An RBI sent Zach Toglia home, making it 2-0 followed by Nate Cmeyla who came home after a wild pitch got away from Romback and the top of the inning ended at 3-0.
It looked as if the Foresters would make a comeback in the 5th and 6th as Rombach ran the bases after a solo homerun past left center field. An RBI double from Bazzell brought Santos home, closing the Blues lead, making the score 2-3.
It stayed silent until the 8th when Andrew Dusablon came in to pitch for the Sters. A wild pitch allowed for CJ Masciel to get to second. Another pitching change saw Nick Proctor on the mound. Masciel then score on a base hit from Cmeyla, ending the game with a score of 4-2.
The Foresters play tomorrow in their third game of the weekend against the Blues.
