Foresters Fall 13-6 to Saints

In the Foresters third straight road game, they hit a Saintly speed bump, falling 13-6 to Arroyo Seco.

The Saints struck first against starter Robert Cranz with a three-run homer in the first. left field for a three-run home run. The ‘Sters got one back in the 3rd when Miguel Santos hit a liner to left field to score Rylan Charles from second. The Saints struck back harder in the bottom of the inning when Matt Wong hit a two-run jack to put the Saints up 5-1.

In the fifth, the Foresters threatened a big inning after Jack Holman walked with the bases loaded with no outs to cut the lead down 5-2. Kade Higgins struck out and Gianni Horvat grounded into a double play to strand three.

The Saints blew the game open after a bases-clearing double in the 5th put them up 9-2.

The Foresters narrowed the 11-2 lead with a bases loaded ground rule double from Miguel Santos followed by a sac fly by Will Pendergrass. Gavin Kash walked and on a wild pitch ball four, Santos scored to make it a 11-6 ball game. Arroyo Seco added two more to complete the dominant win.

The Foresters will try to right the ship with a three-game homestand against CCL North opponents, starting Friday at 6 pm vs Walnut Creek Crawdads.
